Who We Are
Our philosophy:
Animals enhance and enrich our lives
Animals also deserve respect and empathy. They should be allowed to display normal behaviors in healthy ways
Companion animals must be taught how to live in our world since it is our responsibility for bringing them into our lives
A home should be a safe space for all beings residing in it; Free of any fear or pain imposed on them by another being intentionally.
We use science-backed force and fear-free methods of training and behavior management/modification. Our job is to help you better understand your pet and their behavior, and make changes to that behavior when necessary. Our pets will never fully understand the world as we do, but it is our job to make their lives easier by teaching them reasonable expectations of how to act and setting them up for success.
Whether on the trail, in the living room, or at the vet’s office, we can help show you a better way to communicate with and enjoy your pet!
Meet the Team
While we will collaborate on every case, please read our bios and feel free to request working with either of us specifically if you need to! If you aren’t sure, we will pick the right one to take the lead on your case.

Growing up, Lauren was the kid that brought home every stray and tried to rehabilitate every sick or injured animal she came across. Although she had aspirations to be a zoo keeper or veterinarian, life took her in a different career path for a while but animals remained a huge part of her life. She eventually found her way back to a career with animals, first working as a wrangler at a large guest ranch and eventually going on to earn certifications in equine body work. She is now a veterinary technician.
Lauren developed a strong passion for training thanks to two very behaviorally challenging dogs and one horse who she has been lucky enough to have as part of her family. Being able to give them skills to help them cope in the human world has given her a true passion for helping other people and their challenging pets.
Lauren received her Masters Level Diploma in Animal Behavior Science and Technology from the Companion Animal Sciences Institute with a Specialization in Aggression for Canine, Equine, and Parrots, and is a Fear Free Certified Professional.
She shares her life with her dogs - CBartok, and Bella; Horses - Ziya, Nimbus, Korra, and Zula; and Macaws - Philomena and Valencia.
Her favorite cases are reactivity, cooperative care, and using creativity to develop training plans that are a bit "outside the box" in order to reach a goal.Learn more about her HERE
